Who is the Haskell race named after? ›

The race was named for the former president and chairman of the Monmouth Park Racetrack Amory L. Haskell. Offering a purse of $1,005,000, it is an important race for three-year olds between the Triple Crown and the Breeders' Cup.

Background. Dornoch is a bay colt bred in Kentucky by Grandview Equine. His sire Good Magic was the U.S. Champion Two-Year-Old in 2017 after he won the 2017 Breeders' Cup Juvenile as a maiden; in 2018 he finished second in the Kentucky Derby.

You must be 18 years of age to wager. Children are welcome on the grounds. No smoking inside of the buildings.

With the exception of Guide Dogs of the Blind and other Assistance Dogs, dogs are not permitted to enter the racecourse.
