Air Fry Frozen Corn Dogs
We all remember the first time we try certain foods. As a kid I always remember liver and onions, macaroni cheese and eating delicious cake with custard at school.
My favourite vacation food was always paella and since then I look forward to trips across the border into Spain for my summer dose of seafood paella.
So, no wonder we now have on the blog instant pot paella, instant pot liver and onions and cake in air fryer.
The same can be said for many American foods.
We visited America for the first time as a family in the summer of 2012 and there was a lot of firsts. One of those firsts was a corn dog. I had never heard of a corn dog until that moment and the Disney staff member looked amused when we asked what one was.
I am sure she had eaten a zillion corn dogs and having Europeans listening and taking in the history of the corn dog would have been amusing to her.
We bought Disney Corn Dogs on the spot and it became one of the many food memories of our five weeks in America.
Fast forward to 2020 and we were still not able to get corn dogs where we lived and it become a past travel memory, so I asked a friend to buy them and photograph them for you and then test the time and temps. Those are the state fair frozen corn dogs you see in the air fryer photos.
If you live in the US, then using State Fair corn dogs will be your best bet. Then here in the UK we finally came across some in late 2022 at Lidl so they do become available in the UK occasionally.

Best Way To Cook Frozen Corn Dogs?
The best way to cook your favourite frozen corn dogs is in the air fryer. The air fryer makes them deliciously crispy, just like they are served to you at your local fair.
It also stops the corn dogs from going soggy when you are cooking them from frozen.
Plus, most standard size air fryers will hold 4 large frozen corn dogs at once.
Can You Air Fry Frozen Corn Dogs?
Yes you can and they are AMAZING. Frozen corn dogs cook better in the air fryer compared to other methods. Think of it like this. You would normally consume frozen corn dogs either with a deep fat fryer or oven baked.
Frozen corn dogs in the oven will be rubbery because as battered food they need a delicious crispy texture.
Frozen corn dogs in the deep fat fryer will be much higher in calories and often lose some of their batter.
However, if you air fry frozen corn dogs you have a crispy texture, yet with less calories, making it a winner for your air fryer.
Frozen corn dogs in the microwavewill be very similar to oven baked and can have that rubbery texture too. Kind of like how you compare reheated pizza in air fryer vs reheated pizza in the microwave.
Best Frozen Corn Dogs
Living in Portugal I would accept any brand of frozen corn dogs. Just because we don’t get them here and crave seeing them in the supermarket.
But if you live in a place where frozen corn dogs are readily available, I recommend for the best frozen corn dogs that you buy State Fair Corn Dogs.
Lidl Frozen Corn Dogs Air Fryer
The frozen corn dogs in the air fryer that I have had the most, has been Lidl corn dogs and they are delicious.
They have a brand called Mcennedy, which are not constant in Lidl but every now and again they have a special Americana range on and often have frozen corn dogs. A great plan B if you can’t get State Fair frozen corn dogs.
