Muddle the cuke with a chunk of fresh ginger, some lemon zest from that lemon you just squeezed and an ounce of simple syrup for a batch of four. Shake that whole mess with the Beefeater, Pimms and ice. Strain that over ice in tall glasses half way. Fill with seltzer, stir gently. Garnish with three cucumber slivers and a ginger slice.

We mix Pimm's with carbonated San Pellegrino drinks, especially the blood orange flavour. Lovely!

I made this in a batch for five co*cktails, multiplying per the recipe. Muddled 1/2 Persian cucumber, zest of a lemon, a sprig of mint, three slices of ginger, and the lemon juice. Used the recommended amounts of gin and Pimms, and shook the whole thing with a few dashes of Orange Angostura bitters and ice. Strained into five glasses, and topped with 2oz each ginger beer (omit simple syrup) and lots of ice. Lemon zest, a cucumber strip, and mint sprig for garnish. Glorious summer day co*cktail.

In England they have a slightly different fizzy lemonade soda that we don't have here to mix into a proper Pimm's Cup (or at least I haven't found)

Being the daughter of an English war bride, I learned to make a classic and very simple Pimm'sCup. Muddle mint in a tall glass. Add ice. Pour in 1 part Pimm's, and 3 parts lemonade. Stir and add a sprig of mint as a garnish. My mystery book club loves these, and Agatha Christie, too!

In my family, a borage blossom was considered an essential garnish along with the cucumber spear.

I increased the volume of Pimm's to 2 oz. per drink, and found it a better overall flavor. Overall , my wife, who spent a number of years in the UK, thinks this is the closest version of Pimm's she's had in the U.S., as it actually tries to replicate the clear lemonade found in the UK that goes into authentic Pimm's cups, rather than substituting with other flavors (e.g. 7-Up, ginger beer, etc.)

I think what they are trying to do here is make British lemonade (ours is more like Sprite, only not lemon/lime just lemon). Try to find an equivalent. You can also use champagne instead of lemonade like they do in Australia. The garnish here is wrong though. It should be a slice of orange, slice of apple, slice of cucumber, a few mint leaves and a strawberry. Cucumber, mint and strawberry are the main constituents - If you don't have the apple and orange, just leave them out, don't sub lemon.

I make mine with regular pelligrino and pickled ginger- no simple syrup- and a lemon slice- as I don’t like sweet drinks. For an afternoon affair I don’t add gin. But for an evening event I add Bombay Saphire East. It is infused with lemongrass and Thai pepper.

Best Pimm's Cup ever! A grown-up Pimm's that thankfully doesn't use sugary sodas. The addition of the gin with the Pimm's doubles down the gin flavor. For gin lovers, this makes it extra good. We made quantities of it for a dinner party for 14 and served it from pitchers into glasses filled with ice and sprigs of mint. Everyone seriously loved this Pimm's and had a big time. Clink!

This was prettier than it was tasty. It had plenty of taste, just not that fantastic of a taste. It was fine, but I would have preferred not to have to drink quite so much of it to obtain a buzz.

I'm genuinely interested to know why Americans call it a Pimm's cup. We just call it Pimm's. Anyone know?

I've been drinking Pimm's for almost 50 years. Yes.... there's a difference! No doubt about it. It's also a whole lot more expensive. I bought a case about 20 years ago, and I still have a few bottles left. When it's gone, it's gone forever. I can't bring myself to pay the current price. I never tried it with ginger, but I've used ginger ale on occasion.

Brad

Really summery!I had a version that added just a bit of wasabi. That gave it another dimension.Either way, it’s delicious.

Try mixing with 7 Up or Sprite. The old Pimms No. 1 formulation was better. Not as much caramel.

Cathy

No one ever believes me when I say the formula was different. Thank you for confirming that I am not nuts! (at least when it comes to Pimms Cup...)

Sharon Wollschlager

I've made it using Pimm's, cucumber infused vodka, club soda, splash of cherry liquor, fresh lemon & cucumber spear.
